During our stay at the Gateway Canyon's
Resort, we visited the Gateway Auto Museum on the grounds. All
these cars are owned by Disovery Channel founder John Hendricks.
The museum features a timeline of American cars, was very well
executed and surpassed expectations. There was a lot of design
and style put into these old cars!


- 1914 Ford Model T Runabout - 22 horsepower,
2 speed planetary transmission. 15 million made between 1908
and 1927.

- 1912 Ford Model T Speedster - apparently
enthusiasts modified regular Model T cars to create Speedster
versions.

- 1906 Cadillac Model H Coupe - the first
Cadillac model. Note the Kersone lamps for headlights.

- 1913 Pierce Arrow Model 38C Brougham
- featuring 38 horsepower and ultra-luxury. At $5200 it was 6x
more expensive than a Model T.


- 1934 Ford Model 40 Roadster Deluxe
- 85 horsepower. Cars came a long way in 20 years! The Model
T was discontiuned only 7 years prior.



- 1929 Cadillac Series 341 Phaeton

- 1930 Duesenberg Model J - The epitome
of classic luxury. At $8,500, it was by far the most expensive
car in America at the time when an "average" car was
only $500. It could be optioned out with fancy coachwork to upwards
of $20,000 - a staggering sum back then.

- 1932 Auburn 8-100 A Speedster

- 1936 Cord 810 Phaeton - first ever
car with pop-up headlights and front wheel drive. Amazing art
deco design. Cars had a lot of style back then.

- 1937 Hudson Terraplane Convertible
Brougham. Very light with 100hp, was considered one of the best
power to weight ratio cars of the era.


- 1936 Auburn Supercharged Cabriolet.
With a then whopping 150 hp, this car could top 100mph!


- 1938 Cadillac V-16 Town Sedan - 7.1
Liter, 16 cylinder, 185 horsepower! Considered one of the smoothest
and swiftest cars at the time.

1939 Packard Darrin Super Straight 8
Convertible Victoria - The car driven by classic movie stars
like Clark Gable and Erol Flynn.

- 2006 Ford GT - paying homage to the
famous LeMans winning GT40. Features a 5.4L V8 making 550 horepower
and a 6-speed manual.
